Who we are
Earsham Lofts is a loft boarding and loft ladder installer based at Unit 7 Earsham Mill, Church Road, Earsham, Norfolk, NR35 2TQ. We are the controller of the personal information described here. You can contact us at info@earshamlofts.co.uk or on 01986 483283.
What we collect
When you use the free survey form we collect what you type into it:
- your name, address (including postcode) and email address;
- your phone number, if you choose to give it;
- your message about what you need;
- the page the form was sent from.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
We use these details only to reply to your enquiry, arrange your free survey (we need your address to visit and survey your loft), give you a quote and, if you go ahead, carry out the work. The legal basis is that you have asked us to take steps before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in running our business and replying to people who contact us.
We do not sell your details, we do not send marketing emails through this form, and we do not use it for advertising.
When you use the form we also use your IP address, briefly, to stop the same person sending the form again and again and to protect the site from abuse. It is held in the server's memory for a short time and is not stored with your enquiry. Our legitimate interest in keeping this website secure is the basis for this.
Who sees it
Your enquiry is sent to us by email. To do that we use these providers, who handle your details only to provide their service to us:
- Brevo, our email delivery service, which handles the content of your enquiry (your name, address, email address, phone number and message) in order to send it to us as an email;
- Vercel, which hosts this website and keeps standard server logs. Vercel is based in the United States, so information may be processed outside the UK.
How long we keep it
We keep your enquiry only as long as we need it to deal with it and any work that follows, and for as long as the law requires us to keep business records. You can ask us to delete it sooner.
Cookies and similar technology
This website does not set any cookies of its own that are needed to make it work, and it does not use advertising cookies. The only things that may set their own cookies are the video and the map, which load from YouTube and Google only when you press them.
If you click Accept on the cookie notice, we turn on Google Analytics, which sets cookies called _ga and _ga_ followed by an identifier. They count visits and show us which pages are useful. They are not used for advertising. If you click Reject, or do nothing, Google Analytics is not loaded at all and nothing is sent to Google. We remember your choice in your browser's local storage so we do not ask again each time. You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page, which also removes any analytics cookies set before.
Other companies' content on this site
Some content comes from other companies, and your browser contacts them when it is shown:
- Norfolk Trusted Trader (trustedtrader.team) shows our reviews in a box on the home page. It is run with Norfolk County Council Trading Standards. Your browser contacts their server to display it, and they may record technical details such as your IP address.
- YouTube, for our loft ladder video. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play. It then loads from YouTube's privacy-enhanced address, and YouTube may collect data about your visit.
- Google Maps, for the map on our contact page. Nothing is loaded from Google until you press Show the map. Google may then collect data about your visit and set cookies.
- Links to Google Maps directions, Instagram and Facebook only contact those companies if you click them.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. You can object to us using it, ask us to restrict how we use it, and ask for a copy in a portable form. To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above. We will reply to any request within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
